(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。故事发生在我国西南边陲。深山里有一个与世隔绝的村寨，寨中男女生下孩子，须在满月时占卜，根据卦来决定是否能够结婚。伊娜生完孩子后，其占卜的卦表明她不能和孩子的父亲岩罕成婚。不得已双方退回当初各自交换的信物，这表明今生今世再无成婚的可能。孩子生病，巫师给治死了。有天深夜，依波将喝醉的岩罕拖入其所住小屋，趁其不清醒宣布俩人正式建立男女关系。岩保则趁夜色窜至伊娜处，欲以实施即成事实，遭伊娜拒绝，不死心的岩保夺走伊娜的银项圈。第二天，人们在水中发现岩保的尸体。数月后依波生下双胞胎，被族人视为邪魔转世……。
