A romantic and funny love story with a tragic end. In Paris a young Hungarian artist (Monpti) and a girl (Anne-Claire) meet and fall in love. But just when she is prepared to give herself to him she finds a pair of lady's pants in his room. He is perfectly innocent but the reason why the pants are there is as humouristic as incredible. So when he tells the truth she gets very angry though she was prepared to "forgive" his "side step". Another pattern is much more serious. Anne-Claire fears that Monpti would have no interest in her if she told that she is a nobody. So she builds up a story of being a rich girl with a private chauffeur. She even takes Monpti to a family church funeral and points out all her relatives, even telling which ones are not on speaking terms. When he finally exposes her lies a violent explosion results. She runs away in despair and is overrun by a car. At the hospital their love returns. But she will die after a few days. - In the background of many scenes we have seen the couple who overrun Anne-Claire, and their shallow emotions were recurrently contrasted with the genuine love of the young couple.。三十年代，上海，华鑫钟表店的伙计陈子坤（陈坤 饰）与店老板的女儿方紫仪（罗海琼 饰）经历着人生的初恋，在老板的挑剔下偷偷爱恋着。却因为结识了安琪（李小冉 饰）而卷入一场风波，从此生命轨迹截然不同。子坤与安琪被关进监狱，紫仪为救子坤闯进杜家吓坏了自小患有心病的杜家千金杜心雨（周迅 饰），寻救失败反惹祸上身，后是拜托同学范丽君的表哥李英奇（陆毅 饰）才将子坤救出来。英奇对紫仪产生了好感，而他此时正被家中安排与丽君结婚。 子坤去杜家索赔时得到心雨好感并愿意向他敞开心扉，看着这得来不易的情景杜云鹤急忙讨好子坤，希望他能留在心雨身边成为他的女婿。子坤心里只有紫仪，却不知道那边李英奇已经对紫仪展开热烈追求，紫仪执意不从但心却在一点点融化，她在顾忌好友范丽君。 杜云鹤的手下阿莱（孙红雷 饰）爱上了孤高倔强的安琪，安琪却看不惯他的走狗嘴脸，她爱的是英俊温和的李英奇，并在英奇的帮助下开了家花店。后又遭遇花店被砸事件，被迫去做舞女，却得到阿莱保护照顾，安琪对阿莱改观。 子坤渐渐爱上了天真善良的心雨，为了弄清感情他出海而去，回来后对紫仪说分手，因为他不能给她富足的生活。紫仪黯然离去。李英奇在教堂逃婚，带紫仪远走高飞，却在范丽君的手段下被迫回来，从此紫仪过上了备受折磨的日子。 子坤与心雨在杜云鹤的安排下在世外桃源过上了诗一般的日子，却没能禁受住诱惑回到了上海，一段腥风血雨再难避免，这群痴男怨女的命运纠缠在一起，演绎出一段轰轰烈烈的命运故事。。该片由迈克尔·格兰达吉（Michael Grandage）导演，描写了美国大作家托马斯·沃尔夫与他的图书编辑麦克斯·珀金斯之间的友谊。 托马斯·沃尔夫（Thomas Wolfe）是美国20世纪30年代的著名作家，也是上世纪最伟大作家之一，代表作有《天使，望故乡》（Look Homeward,Angel，1929）《时间与河流》（Of Time And River，1935）等。麦克斯·珀金斯（Max Perkins）则是著名的文学编辑，曾一手发掘过菲茨杰拉德（F. Scott Fitzgerald）、海明威（Ernest Hemingway）。他们两人的友谊无形之中改变了他们不同的个性，也改变了他们不同的人生轨迹。 《天才》由约翰·洛根（John Logan）根据A. Scott Berg所著《麦克斯·珀金斯：天才们的编辑》（Max Perkins: Editor of Genius）一书改编。片中，科林·弗思（Colin Firth）将饰演“麦克斯·珀金斯”，裘德·劳（Jude Law）将饰演“托马斯·沃尔夫”，盖伊·皮尔斯（Guy Pearce）将饰演“菲茨杰拉德”、多米尼克·威斯特（Dominic West）将饰演“海明威”。。
