Missing from her personal effects is her jewelry, including the Wolvercote Tongue which she was going to donate to the Ashmolean Museum. The pathologist determines that she died of natural causes, but Morse feels there's something not quite righ...。剧情的背景其实就是在原著的基础上，做了些科幻式的改编。原著中的黑暗、混沌在这里成了太阳黑子爆发，而原本的一个石猴的问世变成了三颗陨石的陨落和神化。要打败天魔，惟一方法是要某年某月某日某时某刻某分某秒出世的人，由其中一颗陨石的化身护送他到西天取三藏真经。。
