Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol, but stumbles...。40年代逃荒到辽西山区的姑娘棉桃，不幸落入土匪刘八爷手中，棉桃逃跑的路上，被追逼无奈跳入河谷，铁匠水印发现后将她救回家中。四方游走的货郎与棉桃相遇，两人一见钟情，但为感谢水印的救命之恩，棉桃嫁给了水印。货郎伤心而去。刘八爷发现了棉桃，将她抓回关人刘府内。棉桃不从，将刘八爷刺伤，紧急时刻货郎救出棉桃，两人逃跑路上货郎被土匪击中，他向棉桃倾诉了心中的爱慕后离开了人世。。在一个受到即将到来的飓风威胁的佛罗里达沿海小镇上，当地居民正在为强制疏散做准备。随着最后一批游客的离开和居民们封堵自家门窗，有几个流浪者却选择了留下来。。
