A road movie from east to west, north t...。湘子桥与赵州桥、洛阳桥、卢沟桥并称“中国四大古桥”，迄今已有八百多年的历史。从公元1171年建第一个桥墩开始，至公元1228年，近十位潮州历任州官，花了近60年的时间，接力完成了湘子桥23个桥墩的建造。潮州先民从湘子桥出发，走向大洋，点燃起环太平洋文化的点点星火。。作品主要围绕犀川研究室成员之一的犀川创平，以及犀川的恩师的女儿西之园萌绘两人展开，虽然萌绘并不是犀川研究室的成员，但参与了该研究室此次的研讨旅行，地点定在了妃真加岛。随后，在萌绘的提议下，犀川和萌绘前去拜访了座落在这座岛上的真贺田研究所，然而他们在那里的密室中发现了一具尸体。以此为契机，之后又连续发生杀人事件，被卷入其中的两人一同解决充满谜团的连环凶杀案……。
