该片通过挖掘南洋会馆里的故事，还原东南亚华人的奋斗历史，以及中国文化在海外的影响力。。讲述了小学教员景平(于清斌饰)引见自己的女朋友千寻(李雯雯饰)和当警察的父亲相见，父亲却惨死茶楼，千寻不知所踪，警方认定千寻就是凶手。从此之后，景平性情大变，投身警界，走遍千山万水只为追捕千寻。八年后，他踏上了追击一名江洋大盗的征途，渐渐接近千寻，也渐渐接近父亲遇害的真相……。This is Alanis Obomsawin's most recent film documenting the Oka crisis (1990)in Quebec. Now a decade later Obomsawin takes the camera to the people of the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake to recount their experiences and how its affected their lives.
