影片根据史蒂芬·金的同名短片小说改编，以三幕倒叙的方式，讲述查尔斯·克兰兹的一生，以他39岁因脑瘤去世为开端，以他在闹鬼的房子里度过的童年时光为结尾。。枫（崔嘉宝）不满被逼下嫁喜（廖伟雄），逃婚至上海，投考女军，与教官彦（邵仲衡）相恋，继而结婚。战情日渐激烈，彦与生（林利）上前线作战，失手被日军所俘，彦在战俘营中重遇生父雄（高雄），因其身份，彦得以在日军军队中任职，然实则，彦暗中替国军搜集情报。彦为博取信任，决娶少将吉（朱铁和）之女美佐子为妻。枫以为他已战死，得喜照顾，独力抚养儿子。当美佐子发现枫母子仍在世，为夺彦之爱，誓要杀死二人；另一方面，生为求名利，不惜一切要揭穿彦为国军特工之真正身份。枫与彦，同时面对性命危险，能否化险为夷？。Germany 1939.
