本剧讲述退休的大学教授哈莉·怀尔德偶然间看到警探儿子在侦破的案件，于是利用自己的专业知识帮助儿子破获一起起案件的故事。 警探查理接到通知赶到案发现场，看到了诡异的场景：尸体头部遭到重击，尸体周围围满了蜡烛，凶手留下一个小模型，与这个房间一模一样，包括屋子中间的死者。一番调查后，查理没有找到任何线索。查理的母亲哈莉·怀尔德是一位刚退休的英语语言学文学教授，某天，她在警探儿子家发现了几张凶案现场的照片。尸体头部遭到重击，尸体周围围满了蜡烛，哈莉立刻想到这是一部舞台剧中的场景，并提醒儿子，但儿子只是当哈莉在捣乱。闲不住的哈莉决定自己追查这起案件，还抓来了此前偷了自己钱包的不良青年。两人默契配合，竟接连破获多起案件。。Tin Men is one of my favorite movies of all time. The thing that always strikes me whenever I watch this movie is that while the characters of Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito are seemingly feuding non-stop throughout the movie, in reality they are actually kindred spirits. It's like they see themselves in the other but don't really like what they see. Barbara Hershey is great...。
