嘎子自幼与奶奶喜婆相依为命，在边远的山区过着无忧无虑的生活。喜婆因为自己年事已高而嘎子也已经长大，决定带着嘎子进北京，要在自己晚年把不谙世事的嘎子托付给小有成就的二儿子，希望嘎子能和二叔杠子相互依靠并创造出属于嘎子的未来。但是进城之后的种种遭遇让喜婆和嘎子丢失了二叔杠子的地址也丢失了全部家当。就在喜婆和嘎子一筹莫展之时，台湾女孩钟雨萱热心帮助他们度过了一道道难关。就在嘎子逐渐适应了城市生活的时候，意外的找到了自己的二叔杠子，而杠子却引出了一段嘎子的离奇身世。在喜婆的督促和杠子以及钟雨萱的帮助下，嘎子见到了亲生母亲，但是他却不愿去享受一份新的生活，在几番周折之后，嘎子终于领会了喜婆的慈悲大爱，所有的人也都在喜婆的感召下重新审视自己的生活，寻找到自己的人生坐标。。Marine scientist Fred Miller designs the world's first underwater home, but when the business magnate funding his work threatens to end the project, Miller volunteers to live in it with his own family to prove it's practical.
