影片讲述了4名知识青年的人生经历。民族音乐专家纪光明受邀回到爱恨20多年的县城，在收集花灯资料过程中巧遇知青时代的恋人徐静茹的女儿——王明静，由此引出20年前上山下乡的回忆……。故事发生在中华料理屋鬼丸饭店，作为老板娘鬼丸真纪子（定冈小百合 配音）的女儿，鬼丸美辉（生天目仁美 配音）并不热衷于打理家族的事业。可是，在青梅竹马神无月惠美（小清水亚美 配音）的激将下，美辉决定，一定要成为商店街上的第一看板娘，一场轰轰烈烈的头牌争夺战即将展开。 美辉固执和诡异的行为方式给饭店的日常经营带来了不少的麻烦，但奇怪的是，她风风火火的作风却得到了商店街不少顾客的青睐和喜爱。每日，除了要完成店铺的日常外，美辉还要接受来自于西山堪九郎（桧山修之 配音）等劲敌的不断挑战，在经营和修炼的过程中，美辉也从一个懵懂的女孩逐渐成长为了能够肩负起大人的无敌看板娘。。Qwerty is a film about lonely concepts of people and their quirky exploits.
