Jointly produced by Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla under the banner of Eros International, Maddock Films and Illuminati Films, it is the debut directorial venture of Arif Ali, who was the assistant writer of the film Aahista Aahista, written by his brother Imtiaz Ali. The film has music scored by A. R. Rahman. The film was released on 4 July 2014。纪录片以刁亦男和胡歌为主视角，讲述电影【南方车站的聚会】从缘起、筹备到杀青、上映，在近2年的时间里，演员与制作团队从陌生到熟悉，逐步建立起信任、默契，共渡难关的过程。全组成员在漫长的150多个黑夜里，经历着种种争辩、妥协、坚持与转变，是一场独立电影人向着工业化制作水准的黑夜探险。。
