有人说，“中华民族是一个圆，周长可大可小，圆心无处不在，而半径就是汉字，汉字就是中华民族的向心力。”每一个中国人都依赖汉字所创造的文化而存在。该部纪录片包括《文明晨曦》、《尘封甲骨》、《鼎立九州》、《隶行天下》、《挥毫千秋》、《百年沉浮》、《方正流长》七个部分，以字体的演变贯穿的脉络，在浩繁的历史中寻找与文字演变发展有关的事件和人物，用汉字故事讲述中国文明的历史。。改编自D. Eric Maikranz所著小说《转世文献》(The Rein carnationist Papers)，聚焦一个被自己前两世的记忆缠绕的男子，引出一群几乎长生不死、几世纪来多次转生的人，被称为“无限/无穷之人”，他们的组织叫“Cognomina”。为了打败想毁灭地球的邪恶力量，他们必须依靠这个精神分裂的男子，而后者先要搞清楚：他常做的奇怪的梦都是前世的记忆。。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years.
