本片是一部具學術性且形式前衛的影片，討論女性主義、母性與性別差異。影片主要分為三大部分、十三個章節，意圖建構觀者與影片中女性主體的關聯性，從女性的觀點與聲音來呈現影像中的女性。。本作以现代日本为舞台，描述了一群穿梭于历史的阴影之中的神秘群体——封刃师。这世间的邪气，会寻找人们的怨恨、妒忌、愤怒，并与其一起相互交织而形成可怕的秽刃，杀人于无形，被害者只会化为常人无法看到的灰烬飘散而去。而封刃师正是拥有看见这世间的污秽并将其封印的人，只是这行侠仗义背后的牺牲远比想象的更加无情……。Time is fluid in this far-fetched, whimsical western tale of music and love.
